The 2015 U.S. Transgender Survey had 27,715 respondents to their survey examining the experiences of transgender people in the U.S. The Executive Summary reports their experiences as involving pervasive mistreatment and violence, harmful effects on physical and mental health, severe economic hardship, and compounding effects of discrimination, but also increased visibility and growing acceptance.
