This article addresses LGBTQ+ disparities related to access to care, paying for care, mental health, physical health, and financial planning.

In the United States, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community is large; in fact, this group makes up approximately 4.5% of the country’s total population. The difficulty of access to quality care is an even greater issue for older members of the LGBTQ+ community, as they must also contend with any health issues that are associated with aging.
