Members of the Sylvia Rivera Law Project (SRLP) put this visit guide together to improve access to respectful and affirming social, health, and legal services for low-income people and people of color who are transgender, gender non-conforming, or intersex (TGNCI). This guide offers suggestions for each step to visiting people who have been incarcerated. This includes a guide for communication prior to a visit, self-care before making a prison visit, self-care during a prison visit, self-care and next steps after a prison visit, and FAQs.
