Stress and Mental Health Among Midlife and Older Gay-Identified Men

This study examined associations between stress and mental health among HIV-negative and –positive midlife and older gay men. Findings included that sexual minority stress and aging-related stress were appeared detrimental to mental health. A sense of mastery partially mediated these associations, and being legally married was significantly protective.
